A Message from Governor John Lynch
This year, dramatic fuel cost increases are making it harder for New Hampshire’s families to afford to heat their homes. As Governor, I want to make sure state government is doing everything possible to help New Hampshire citizens stay warm and safe this winter.
This website is designed to help you take practical steps to conserve energy so that you can lower your heating bills, and to connect you with assistance if you need help paying your heating bills.
By using some of the energy-saving tips on this website, you can save on your heating bills now and into the future. There are also several programs that are available to help you upgrade your home to make it more energy efficient in cold and hot weather.
If you live in a low- or moderate-income household, you may be eligible for help from New Hampshire’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (also known as the Fuel Assistance Program). To find out if you are eligible, contact your local Community Action Agency.
I know the need for heating assistance is great this year, and I am working with our Congressional delegation to ensure timely and adequate federal funding for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
My goal is to ensure that all New Hampshire families have a safe and warm winter. If you need assistance, or have questions, please call the Office of Energy and Planning at 271-2155.

John H. Lynch
